So I burned A LOT of CDs onto my iTunes and it ends up all of the song files are in mpeg4 format. How do I change the settings on iTunes so that when I burn CDs onto iTunes the songs will be in mp3 and not mpeg4 format, or is that not possible and do I need to then convert those files into mp3 using a some sort of converter?
Thanks!How to change settings on iTunes so that music is in mp3 format?
Hi, you can change the setting to rip CDs into mp3 format. To change the setting:
- Open iTunes and click File (top left of screen)
- Select Preferences
- When the little pop-up screen appears, click the General tab
- About midway down, you'll see a button called ';Import Settings';
- Click that, and on the drop-down menu next to ';Import Using,'; select ';MP3 Encoder';
- Then go to the next menu down and choose the file quality. 128 kbps is decent quality and doesn't take up much space; 320 kbps is nearly CD quality, but takes up nearly three times the space
- Then click OK to save.
Hope this works smoothly for you. :)
