How to change settings in iTunes to not automatically songs into library?

Everytime I rip a song from a CD or buy from a website, it automatically adds it to the library, how can I change this? I want to manually add the songs.

The easiest way to update your library is to select FILE%26gt;%26gt;ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY, then select the top level folder where you have all you songs. iTunes will then update your library. After you set this up, when you add music the folders that are included in the list, it should be added to the library as well. This is the set up you have.



All you need to do is reverse the way this is set up, or add the music to a folder that is not included in the above mentioned added folder.
