How do I change settings on a Viewsonic Computer monitor?

I keep getting an annoying pop us message like '; Resolution Notice; For best picture quality change resolution to 1280x1024. Press #1 for exit Press #2 to disable'; BUT After pressing #2..the message will still come up at various times. Where do I go to change the settings so that this message will no longer appear? so I can disable the message?How do I change settings on a Viewsonic Computer monitor?
if u got xp go to control panel then display reset setting save it also ck comp for spyware and virus just to make sure it clean..
