How is it possible to change settings in pdf file so it could be opened in earlier Adobe Reader versions (5) ?

I can't find option on the Menu bar that would enable any user to open pdf file with earlier Adobe Reader versions, like version 5.



Parallel question: how can I protect .doc Word file from unathorized changes and copy/paste operations? I just could not figure it out in Tools/Options/Security settings.

in Acrobat, go to File %26gt; Reduce File Size. Select the version you want it be compatible with. You can also select a compatiblity setting under File %26gt;Document Properties %26gt; Security tab. When setting a password / security on a doc, you can also select the compatible versions as well.



In MS Word, you can ';protect'; a document from being changed by going to Tools %26gt; Protect Document (word 2003 menu). Select from the options that come up.
